What do I get with my Bombay kitten?

When you adopt a kitten from Bombay Kitten Home, you will receive a comprehensive kitten care package. This package includes two sweaters, toys, and treats to help your kitten settle into their new home. Additionally, we provide you with a three-generation pedigree lineage for your kitten. If you choose to register your Bombay kitten with TICA (The International Cat Association), we will provide you with all the necessary information to do so. We also offer a three-year guarantee against congenital defects and HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy), as well as lifetime support. We love receiving updates on our cats and encourage you to share pictures and videos with us. If you have any questions or concerns, we are always available to assist you.

Do you offer stud services or sell cats for breeding purposes?

No, we do not offer stud services or sell cats for breeding purposes. Our cattery is closed to protect the health and well-being of our kittens.

What medical testing do I need to do on my Bombay cat?

Immunizations are essential for your kitten’s health. However, it is crucial to find a veterinarian who is familiar with the specific needs of Bombay cats, as they may have unique reactions to certain vaccines. We recommend four FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) vaccinations and one rabies vaccination during the first year of your Bombay kitten’s life. After the initial vaccinations, annual FVRCP and rabies vaccinations are necessary throughout their life. We advise against vaccinating your kitten for FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), ringworm, or Giardia. Please note that we do not provide any warranty for adverse reactions to these or any future vaccinations. Additionally, it is required that all current cats in your home be combo tested for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and Leukemia before introducing your new Bombay kitten. An annual echocardiogram is strongly recommended to identify HCM in your cat. Although we perform annual HCM scans on our breeding cats and selectively breed, it’s important to note that HCM is inherent in the Bombay breed.

Do you have an outcrossing program?

Yes, we have a carefully designed outcrossing program that aims to enhance the genetic diversity within the Bombay gene pool. Our program strictly follows TICA’s approval guidelines for specific breeds.

What do I do if my cat gets sick?

We provide a 48-hour health guarantee after the pick-up of your kitten and a guarantee against life-threatening congenital defects, including HCM, until the age of three. If your Bombay cat becomes ill, please contact us immediately. However, after the 48-hour health check, you will be responsible for any illnesses your cat may develop. It’s important to note that the breeder cannot be held accountable for future diagnoses of FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), FIV, or any other bacterial, viral, infectious diseases, or parasites that your cat may contract outside of our cattery.

How do I know you’re a legitimate breeder?

When purchasing a kitten, it’s crucial to conduct thorough research and be cautious of scammers. We want to assure you that we are a registered cattery with TICA, and our website is linked to our TICA registration. We strongly advise against purchasing a kitten from a cattery that is not registered with TICA, does not perform annual HCM scans on their cats, or refuses to conduct a FaceTime call. Scammers can be sophisticated and may attempt to deceive you, so please be cautious if the price seems unusually low or if the cattery requests payment via Western Union. It’s important to ensure

that kittens are produced in a reputable cattery that conducts thorough genetic testing, HCM scans, HCM gene testing, and follows TICA registration guidelines. These measures help ensure the health and quality of the kittens we provide. Your peace of mind and the well-being of our kittens are our top priorities.
